    • Magnification: 12 times
    • Objective Lens Diameter: 42 millimeters (Generally, the larger the diameter of the objective lens, the greater the light-collecting power and the brighter images will appear.)
    • Field of View at 1000 yards: 261 feet (The area of a target, measured horizontally from the location of viewing, that can be observed.)
    • Close Focusing Distance: 8 feet (The closest distance the user can be from an object to obtain a clear, focused view through the lens.)
  • Features
    • Size: Full Size
    • Lens Tint: true
    • Prism Type: Roof (Prisms ensure the proper horizontal and vertical orientation of the view. There are two main types: roof and Porro. Roof prisms, typically more expensive than the alternative, have a more streamlined design due to their glass elements being in line with one another. Porro prisms, though they contribute to a larger form factor, typically provide a wider field of view than roof prisms.)
    • Exit Pupil: 3.5 millimeters (The diameter of the beam of light that travels through the lens to the user's eye. Generally, the larger this measurement, the greater the relative brightness and detail of the image.)
    • Lens Coating: Multilayer coated (Chemical coatings on a lens reduce reflective light loss and improve light transmission. The different coating levels indicate the number of anti-reflective layers and the lens surfaces to which they're applied, ranging from coated (the most basic) to fully multi-coated (typical of high-end optics).)
    • Focus System: Center (The most common binocular focusing system is center focus, which features a centered wheel or lever (InstaFocus) between the barrels, and usually additional diopter adjustment. Individual focus binoculars allows each eyepiece to be adjusted independently.)
    • Eye Relief: 15.1 millimeters (The maximum distance between the eyepiece lens and user's eye at which the full field of view can be seen.)

Q: What is the difference between these and the prostaff

A: Nikon Monarch binoculars have more coatings on the lenses than Nikon Prostaff binoculars. These coatings enhance the image quality of the binoculars so everything you see is sharper.

Q: Are these versatile? Going hiking or taking to a concert ?

A: I have used for both of these exact purposes. (Hiking/nature & concerts).

Q: What 8 by 42 means ¿

A: The 8 is the magnification lens and 42 is objective lens diameter.

Q: my question is what is Nikon warranty on these binoculars....

A: The Nikon MONARCH 5 8x42 binoculars come with a Warranty and a Lifetime No-Fault policy. These binoculars have multilayer coatings, which allow for more light transmittance to ensure a more natural, clearer view. In addition, they are waterproof and fogproof to provide maximum protection and are light-weight enough to take with you on all your adventures. To learn more please contact Nikon Support.

Q: This is a BAK4 or Bk7 ??? Or how can I check it’s prims material ?

A: The 8x42 Monarch 5 Binoculars feature ED (Extralow Dispersion) glass elements with fully multicoated Ecoglass lenses and phase-corrected roof prisms that produce clear high-contrast images with accurate color reproduction across the entire visible light spectrum. Dielectric high-reflective multilayer prism coating on all lenses and prism surfaces further enhances the optical performance.

Q: Does the binoculars come with cover, straps and case?

A: Strap and case, yes. Cover lids for the lenses.

Q: Explain what 8x42 means and compare it to 10x50 or anything else.

A: The x that is before the "8" refers to the magnification of the binoculars while the number of "42" after the x refers to the diameter size of the objective bell. The larger the objective size the more light you can let in, which helps when in a low light scenario. The MONARCH 5 8x42 binocular has high resolution to provide brighter, more natural looking images due to the use of ED (Extra-low light) glass but is not offered in a 10x50 size.
