Lovely, versatile lens
Very easy travel lens. I carry on my bike somewhat haphazardly and it has enough weight to not flail, but not so heavy that carrying around your neck becomes uncomfortable after long periods. Beautiful, crisp photos. Decent auto focus that has only been troubling in shots with subjects behind heavy branches. On the Z50 the 1.5 cf pushes the zoom a bit - i feel i can generally photograph anything within my view and dont have too many restrictions/constraints. Very fun to shoot with for an entire day.

Favorite travel lens
We do a lot of national park trips and sometimes we fly budget airlines to get there so space matters. It would be great to fly with the arsenal of lenses but if checking a bag is the thing that makes or breaks a trip, I’ll take my chances. This takes beautiful pictures with my Z8. I was worried about the aperture size, which ideally could be better, but for the price and convenience, I’ll gladly edit the noise in post processing. The lens also has a nifty lock that keeps it from opening in a bag. It’s also surprisingly compact and light.

Impressed with the quality & travel capabilities
I was looking forward to getting this lens, from a keen photographer who has sold a few prints :) I pre-ordered & sold my 70-180 & 2x teleconverter for this lens due to the size & weight decrease, and the extended reach & hopefull increased photo quality too. I am impressed with the near & far range that I can now get, it's also lightened my kit and made my setup a bit less tripod-dependant as it is a bit easier to now hand hold. A great all-round near & far travel zoom lense which has met my expectations. My only issue is, not related directly to the lens is that I bought what I thought would be a compatable 77mm filter which doesn' t seem to fit? The attached photo's show its zoom capabilities at 3 levels!
