Q: Can these be mounted on stands? And are stands standard size
A: The side and rear speakers have a standard 1/4-20 threaded bushing recessed into the bottoms. The center speaker has no provision for mounting.
Q: What ceiling mounts work with these?
A: I got a set from Crutchfield (Pinpoint AM 24) http://www.crutchfield.com/p_121AM24W/Pinpoint-AM24-White.html?tp=586 The trick is finding ones that can mount speakers with the threaded fitting on the bottom - which is what these have. I wall mounted them because that's where the wires already exited the wall... the bottom mount forces a downward tilt, but that works for my room.
Q: How many ohms are these speakers? My Onkyo receiver only takes 8 ohms.
A: The speakers are all 6 ohm but you should be OK as long as you keep volume to reasonable levels. Overheating the output transistors is the major risk at very high volumes.
Q: What is the best size speaker wire for this set? 16AWG or 14AWG
A: I used 14 gauge. Heavier is better; there's less line loss in the signal.
Q: Do the speakers have wired connections to the stereo receiver?
A: Yes, the speakers are wired.
Q: Do I need a receiver with this Onkyo theater bundle?
