Q: QuestionWho bills you for the monthly taxes?? OOMA?? The State?? The County? Who do you pay?(3 answers)
A: AnswerYou get one bill from OOMA & somehow they pay any and all taxes & fees from that. I have their basic service & it costs me $5.64/mo. My AT&T landline bill was over 10X that per month. After I switched, AT&T kept calling offering phone & internet combo packages & I kept asking what part of $6/mo vs $60/mo don't you understand? I think they finally caught on. Also, OOMA will include their premium package for 30 days (or maybe 60 days) at no cost. Normally it's $10/mo extra but when I went to cancel it they offered it at $5/mo. Wish I had accepted, but $10/mo really isn't bad. Also you have to call them at the end of the trial period to cancel the service or they assume you want it & will automatically bill you for it. There can be a slight lag initially when someone one calls but it's normal after the first 5-10 secs. It's most noticeable when telemarketers call so it may be something with their calling system or process. For me it's a small price to pay to save over $55/mo.Answered by JohnR
- A: AnswerYes, I canceled my phone service with Comcast. I still used my AT&T base unit with 3 other wireless phones. It works perfect. That was one of my concerns also. I thought I might have to buy some VOIP phones. Not so. I tried using the wi-fi connection with the Ooma 2 but I didn’t like the connection. It’s been almost a year so I can’t recall how bad it was but I connected my router to the Ooma using an Ethernet cable and it works great. So all you need to do is then connect your phone to the Ooma 2 using a phone cable. Follow the setup procedures. I moved my original phone number to my new Ooma service. It took about a week so don’t cancel your phone service until it switches over. I hope this helps.

A: AnswerI am using my existing wireless phones...AT&T, with eight handsets...works great!Answered by Mike
Q: QuestionIs there an activation fee?(4 answers)
A: AnswerThere is no activation fee. You will have to pay what the monthly taxes on the service would otherwise be. Ooma also offers a premium service. Be careful, as you will be automatically enrolled unless you opt out,. There is a $39 plus tax charge if you want to port your existing phone number.Answered by KnuckleheadSmith
Q: QuestionIs there a delay is service when upgrading from an older model to the current model?(1 answer)
A: AnswerNo there is no cost. I just upgraded to this model from an Ooma base that I’ve been using for 10 years. The one thing you MUST do is call the customer service number to upgrade your device if you’re a current Ooma customer. They don’t say this anywhere in the installation and setup materials. They tell you to do everything through the app or online but if you do it will just set up a new account as if you are a new subscriber. It’s much easier if you just call the number and get the customer service person to switch over your account to the newer equipment. It takes about 16-24 hrs for the changeover to go through then you get a phone call telling you to connect the new box and you’re good to go.Answered by ALaFiama
- A: AnswerYes, if the main base for your cordless phone is plugged into the Ooma, all the additional phones will work.

Q: QuestionCan you add your cell number to these plans when establishing service?(3 answers)
A: AnswerThe Ooma device simultaneously rings both your home phones and your cell phone if you choose. Or simply ring your cell phone. There are several options depending on what your requirements are. To ring your cell phone. use either the Telo app or call forwarding without changes to your cell plan. My Telo is configured to ring at home and simultaneously on my cell using the mobile application. It forwards calls to my cell number if the Telo device is offline. The call forward can be to any number.Answered by DonS
