Not as good of a buy as it looks

I bought this blender 3 years ago. It seemed like it was going to be an above average blender with the preset frozen drink buttons and reversible blades. I feel as though after paying $80 for this blender I continue to lose money on it. The amount of liquid it requires (soy/almond milk) to actually blend a smoothie out of some frozen and fruit and frozen greens is excessive and costly. The frozen drink option does a wonderful thing and reverses the blades to unclog the bottom of the jar to get a better rotation of food in the blender but it only works in the preset program buttons and it doesn't go in reverse more than just at the beginning of the cycle. A manual reverse option would be great. I end up with a thick blended layer on the bottom, whole items in the middle all the liquid forced to a layer on the top. I have to continually stick a silicon spatula into the blender to get the liquid back to the bottom and move the bended stuff to the top. Then the plastic end cap that holds the blade in the jar cracked and not rendered this blender useless. I did see a replacement set here on BestBuy.com for cheap but once I pay for that I already invested $100 into a blender that I dislike and only need $200 more to have bought a basic Blendtec to Vitamix that well surpasses this blender in efficiency reliability and has a 7 year warranty.

      Great and powerful blender

I bought this because I needed something cheaper than the blentec I really wanted. I am a vegan so almost all of my recipes include nuts so I wanted something powerful but affordable. It emulsifies whatever you put in it. Having said that it is not ideal if you want to make nut butters or grind nuts you will still need to get a food processor to do those jobs but overall it does an amazing job for the money. Ice is also not a problem no huge chunks or pieces are left I use it to make smoothies and to blend my ice cream mixture. Great blender for the money. My only gripe is the glass bowl I have to replace already and I've only owned it for a month because it chipped at the top the good news Oster sells them for a reasonable price but I have to wait until they get more in stock.

Bought this blender as a suplimit to my Juicer. This is an item that proves you get what you pay for. Bought other blenders that were cheaper, but all their motors froze when trying to make smoothies. After 3 tries with cheaper models I decided to spend a bit more and found this Blender. The motor is plenty strong to blend even the most stubborn frozen fruits, like whole frozen Strawberries!! Love the preprogrammed buttons for different type of frozen drinks and the 3 seperate speeds choices along with the preprogrammed one touch buttons give plenty of blending options for anyone!!

      Looks Great, but....

My wife and I purchased the Oster Fusion as a replacement to the previous Oster blender we had owned. We were attracted by the Fusion's sleek black and stainless styling, the large motor size, and the many features this model boasted. Unfortunately once we got our Fusion home and tried to assemble it, things didn't go so smoothly. The glass blending container wouldn't properly seat with the blades and the black plastic retaining base. No matter how many times we attempted to screw these 3 components together it always came out slanted, as if the threads weren't properly aligned. When I removed the blades and screwed the jar directly to the black base it mounted perfectly, so that means the blade portion was somehow improperly manufactured. I was quite pleased with the quick action Best Buy took in issuing a no hassle refund when I returned this product the next day.

      Very Powerful

After only two years, we just retired a highly rated blender. Looking for something with more power at a reasonable price, we found the Oster Fusion 7 in stock at our local Best Buy. The glass jar has an easily cleaned lid with a feed chute larger than the cubes from our ice maker. The convenient controls include useful low and high speed pulse buttons. Low and medium operating speeds are surprisingly quiet. High speed noise resembles our older blenders, but seems more effective making smoothies. The pre-programmed "Frozen Drinks & Shakes" setting works well and is fun to watch. Black may not be the best color for a small appliance in our kitchen and the stick-on metal labels don't inspire confidence, but it works so well that we don't care.

      Very Nice Blender

My previous blender died on me while trying to make a sauce like a pesto that I make for the holidays--I burnt out the motor (not an Osterizer). I went out and got a new one and chose this model because of the power of the blender. I was not dissappointed. It quickly blended up my sauce. I like the on/off button and how after a while, if I forget to turn it off, it shuts off on its own. Also that I have two pulses (low/high) and that I can program blending for my favorite items that I do on a regular basis. I have consistently liked OSTER brands/models, and was NOT disappointed with this one. On top of that, the glass from another Osterizer I had was able to fit this base as well (it is a smaller size glass) so that was an accidental bonus.

I bought this unit on April 2nd 2009 after reading the reviews from other customers and also reading the box I thought it would be a good blinder to buy. It has 1000 watts of power, reversing motor, stainless steel 6 poing star blade, pre-programmed settings for frozen drinks and it automatically stops when complete that sounded just like what I was looking for. I used it everyday once a day for 4 weeks, I never put ice in this unit. I bought it for my forzen drinks so I always used frozen fruit. Now the piece that broke was the metal piece that sticks out from the base of the unit. The metal drive which is a part of the glass jar sit on top of it, that little piece broke from the base.

My blender recently broke down and I was insearch of another blender. I looked around and decided that this blender would make a suitable replacement because it had alot of the same specifications with one difference; this blender had more power!!! I took it home and bam, it worked out great! I was lost without my orange juice and fruit shakes in the morning for breakfast, but with multiple speeds, rotations, and a durable container this thing can make a smoothie in no time! I would definetly recommend it to anyone who was interested in blending!
