This camera is amazing. It's extremely lightweight, shoots in 4k, and has an easy to use interface. There's a lot said about the G7 in a hundred different places on the internet, so I'll only reiterate in slight. For the price point, you get a ton of features. The video quality is pretty much the same as the GH4, so if you want to tighten up your budget and get more accessories, go for this one. You'll lose audio out, and v-log, the metal build of the GH4, weather sealing, 96 FPS slow motion shooting, and a few 4k settings, but I have yet to be affected by this. If you're just starting, get this. Worry less about your equipment and pixels and audio and going crazy spending dollars on the best of the best. Worry more about the movie you want to make, your vision.

    Favorite Camera for Action Shots

    Posted

I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. I've been using a traditional DSLR for the last couple of years now. The Lumix G7 technology is entirely new to me, and at first I was a little bit intimidated by all of the options and having to learn new technology. After a few weeks with this camera, I still feel like I am just scraping the surface of what it can do! I reach for this camera when I want to take action shots of the kids. The 4K mode allows you to take several seconds (or up to 30 minutes) of video. You can break the video down into about 30 frames per second, and pull any of those images from the video without losing any quality. So, I can get a little video of my child jumping and then look at every frame and pick the ones that catch that exact moment I was looking for - which makes for some seriously amazing photos! Also super handy is the Panasonic app that allows you to connect your device to the camera and download the photos of your choice directly to your phone. This makes it super easy to share your pictures online, because you don't need to go through the whole process of downloading them all on to you computer before you can share them (although I have done that, too, for editing purposes). This camera is exciting - it takes my photography to another level and really lets me capture movement in a new way.

I was torn between Canon 70D, Sony 6300a, Canon 80D & Canon G7X Mark II. Sony 6300a too expensive for the price also can't see the screen from the front of the camera. I have other Canon lenses but the Canon 70D I was on the border with but no 4k video for the PRICE & The 80D again no 4K video.Canon G7X Mark I & Mark II no interchangeable lenses. Lumix G7 compact size ez to carry around still getting use to as far as using as a video camera. Limited on lenses but there's enough lenses for the focal lengths I'm currently shooting at.

Captures Beautiful In The Moment Shots

    Posted

I’m a busy working mom of two sport-loving boys and I wanted a camera that delivered great, in-the-moment shots without compromising quality. The Panasonic LUMIX G7 gives this to me and more. The Panasonic LUMIX G7 is a lightweight, stylish camera with a touch-enabled monitor. I liked having the option of using touch. This is my first mirrorless camera and it was easy to learn on once you learned the different modes. What is new and amazing is the 4K HD modes. My sons play lacrosse and it is a fast-moving sport so catching that right moment can be tough. However with Panasonic LUMIX G7 4K photo modes, my favorite is the pre-burst, I never miss that moment! With the 4K photo modes I am able to catch a succession of clear, beautiful photos and choose the right ones that get that right moment like when my son shoots a goal. Also, the Panasonic Image app is super easy to use and great for when I want to upload and share their pics instantly. I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own.

This is a great camera for shooting videos as well as stills. 16MP is more than enough to give you great prints at over 16X20". The video is great shooting at 4K. It doesn't overheat even when shooting back to back 4K videos until the battery runs out, which is about 70 minutes.

    Quality and lightweight system

    Posted

I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own. As someone who has a camera with me at all times, the struggle is always between whether I want quality pictures or I want lightweight options, because up until now there was no real compromise in my eyes. But, in my never-ending search for a lighter weight camera, I earmarked the Lumix G7 because it has interchangeable lenses as well as being mirrorless (which is quite possibly my favorite advance in cameras in the recent years). The fact that it has a touch-enabled screen so it is really user-friendly was the tipping point. But it wasn’t until I tried it that I truly fell in love. The Lumix G7 totally blew me away in the DSLM (M= Mirrorless) category and took away the bulk and weight of traditional DSLRs without sacrificing image quality. In fact, it has so many features that I adore that it’s now my most-used camera because it can do everything I need but can fit easily in my purse or diaper bag for days out without the gear. Some of my favorite features I didn’t even know I needed: · The 4K shooting modes that allow you to shoot Ultra HD Video taken at up to 30 frames-per-second. Once you have your 4K file taken, you can extract individual frames and save them as an 8-megapixel still image right from the back of the camera so you never miss that perfect moment. No more head swapping in Photoshop because everyone blinked or looked away at the wrong moment because the 4K mode takes all the guesswork out of timing the perfect photo. · The Micro 4/3 lens system that makes for some super tiny lenses that pack a big punch. While I don’t adore the lens it came with straight out of the box (14-42), I do love that it’s clear, it has good range, and it is impossibly small. · The touch-enabled monitor will be your best friend. You can change most everything simply by touching the screen back and choosing settings from there, including selecting those 4K images for saving. You can also focus right from the screen so you can simply tap what you want crystal clear and let the camera do the rest. · The iAuto setting that automatically adjusts and selects the correct scene setting so you can get the best picture on the fly. I’ve never tried an Auto setting I liked, even on my super expensive cameras I’ve owned or rented, but I truly love the iAuto setting on the Lumix G7 for life with fast-moving kids. I can simply flip on the camera, set it to iAuto and shoot away and I almost always end up with gorgeous shots. · Built-in Wi-Fi to share all your beautiful photos on the fly. The Lumix G7 allows me to share right to my cell phone or tablet on the fly via the Lumix app. While I could go on and on about all the features I love, in the interest of brevity, I should just say that I adore this camera. It allows me to capture that perfect moment easily, which is perfect for the adventures we go on as a family as well being a great secondary camera for work without adding 10 pounds to my gear. It is so small that it slips easily into my purse or backpack, which means I can always have it with me to grab at a moment’s notice. If you are sick of all the closed eye shots, or pictures where your child is a mere blur across the image but you can’t take a huge DSLR with you everywhere, you will adore this little camera as much as I do.

    Coolest Camera I've Ever Owned

"I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own.” Like many moms, I’ve been taking my “good” photos with a DSLR and my spur-of-the-moment photos and videos with my phone. But I didn’t always get a get good quality with my phone, didn’t get a great shot with the DSLR, or didn’t want to lug the DSLR around with me in the first place. And I have to say, I was doing it all wrong. This camera, the Panasonic LUMIX G7, is EXACTLY what I’ve needed. I didn’t even know the technology existed and am so excited about being able to use it. I’m still learning all of the features, but everything I’ve played with so far is SO COOL. I essentially just take a video with the 4K setting and can then use it for video and photos. By going back through the video, I can pick out the exact frames that I want for pictures. Clear, amazing pictures, frame after frame after frame. So I never miss the perfect moment when my kids are playing sports or moving quickly. And I get video at the same time. All in a more compact camera than the one I’ve been dragging around for years. It’s seriously awesome! I have more to learn, but am already seriously hooked. I wish I’d gotten this years ago!
