A Premium Compact Travel Camera
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This camera has all the features I have wanted for some time, and is within my budget. It is a premium travel camera that has a 1-inch sensor with 20-Million pixels, a very good Leica lens with a 10X optical zoom, and very good optical image stabilization. It comes equipped with a 3-inch touch-screen that allows a host of controls directly. It has very good automatic image control, that makes the camera very easy to use. It also allows one a host of means for manual control, and facilitates this with a control ring on the barrel of the lens and a dial on the top of the camera - and each of these can be user selected for different exposure controls. The camera is small and compact - easily placed in a jacket pocket. It is unintrusive - important for candid shots. I carry it with me on my daily walks, something I would not do with my larger cameras. The attached photos of a deer family and of a cardinal were each taken at 10X optical zoom, with automatic image control. The camera was handheld, and indicate the quality of the optical image stabilization. The sun rise photo was taken at maximum wide angle, again with automatic image control. Some accessories I would suggest include: - SanDisk - Extreme PRO 128 GB SDXC Memory Card - Case Logic - Era Camera Pouch - Spare battery (DMW-BLG10PP) - "Photographer's Guide to the Panasonic ZS100/TZ100" by Alexander S. White I highly recommend this camera to all!

Best point and shoot camera so far
||Posted .This camera is more than what I expected. In shopping for a point and shoot camera for my trip there were two qualities that I needed. 1. delivers quality photos close to my SLR. 2. being that I am a true novice/beginner, SIMPLE!! This camera has superseded all my expectations. The quality of the photos came out better than my SLR (Nikon 3200). Maybe it's because this camera has a feature (with the option to disable) to display a brief description of what each setting does. For a "dummy", this was really helpful (recall, I am a beginner so I have very little skill and understanding of f/stops, ISO, etc). All that matters is, all my shots were in focus and the quality is AMAZING! . The only con I have is its a bit bulky as a pocket camera.

Great camera for casual shooting
||Posted .I have a Canon 6D and a wide array of lenses, which are great, but too heavy to carry around on a daily basis. Finally got tired of inferior mobile phone photos so decided to pick up a bridge camera that can fit in my pocket and produces decent quality images. Researched the current line of advanced point & shoots and settled on the ZS100 because image quality appears comparable to the others and it has a 10x zoom, which makes it more versatile. Obviously image quality of a 1" sensor is not up to full frame standards, but I've found it much better than my mobile phone and unless I pixel peep, can produce images that are very acceptable. The biggest benefit I've found is that it has expanded my ability to be creative and capture images that I wouldn't have taken before. Generally I use a tripod with my DSLR, which takes time to set up. The ZS100 allows me to shoot quickly and hand-hold shots from various angles with surprisingly good results. The only negative I feel is the difficulty in controlling ISO, aperture and shutter speed. Maybe its just a matter of getting used to the controls, but I would have preferred separate controls like what's offered with the LX100. I was very tempted to get the LX100 except for the slightly larger size and limited zoom range. All in all, I'm pleased with the ZS100 and look forward to using it as my casual go-to camera.

Great Point and Shoot
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I got this camera to take photos at concerts since my DSLR isn’t allowed in and the last point and shoot i bought was back in 2010, so a little outdated. Have taken it to a couple shows so far and it’s worked great! Obviously isn’t going to be on par with a DSLR, but the zoom range is really good and the fact that it shoots in RAW is perfect for me.

Great Little One
||Posted .I had researched over a month to find a camera that fits my purpose. This did reach my expectations with picture quality and portability (fits in my coat pocket nicely). A bit too costly for a point and shoot - more than some of the DSLRs in market. But the only other point and shoot camera that can match it in specifications of this product line is Sony RX series which is way more costlier. Its auto-focus is nice but slower than competitors (My friend has an RX100 Mark IV). Its packing is cheap for a 650$ product, it doesn't matter since you are not going to use that box anyway. But, you might feel that you got a duplicate product looking at its packaging. Its 10 X Zoom is stable and thanks to its 1 inch sensor, night shots are very good (nearly the best - but you can use the built in night modes to get a great night picture). The picture quality is standard (do not expect it to be like a DSLR, they have a more controlled focus and bokeh effect). The most important and the the main function is its 4K modes (video, burst shoot) - this is fantastic, especially with the 5-axis image stabilization. The Post Focus is not really what is expected to be. The battery has a fair performance, depending on what is used more - video/still-photos/4k Burst etc., I did not like the view finder, reason for it being an electronic - but I knew this before I bought it. There is no screen articulation, which I do not need - I am not using it for v-logging or a fan of selfies. I mostly use it for landscape or random still life photography. The camera has a WiFi to mobile communication via app - This is amazing for this generation making your life easier, you can just transfer the pics and even take pictures remotely without touching the camera. If you are looking for a nice travel camera that fits in your palm and which can quickly capture good images, this is best in the line (only rival being Sony Rx series, other do not even match). It has several other features, which I tested and can go on writing about them - that is for you when you buy one. Happy clicking.

The best camera is the one you will carry
Posted .As a full frame DLSR owner with a heavy zoom lens, I was looking for a smaller camera which I would actually take with me on hikes and bike rides. The ZS100 fits the bill. It packs quite a feature set in a small package. It will easily fit in large pockets, can be used discretely, and is light enough to carry on a long hike. I liked how the zoom has good reach, and the fact that it produces raw files was a plus for me since I like to make adjustments afterwards. The picture shown is after using Cyberlink's PhotoDirector (similar to Lightroom) to pull out more details, which is a great aspect of having RAW files. I noticed Canon's equivalent camera in this category only had JPEGs. I found the zoom impressive, and it's my first camera with an electronic viewfinder. Oh my, how did I live without this! Image quality is pleasing. It can't compete with a DSLR in low light but still does ok, though I find image really nice when enough light is present.

Satisfied
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Satisfied with the quality of the camera. It’s a little difficult understanding it’s functions because there’s so many buttons. The 4K on it, it’s great. The pictures it takes are very clear. You have to buy its own SD card separate, that’s all new cameras now a days. I dropped it once already on the cement, it didn’t break still works great.

Q: QuestionWhat's the different s between the Panasonic -Lumix DCM - ZS 100 and the Panasonic Lumix DC ZS 70k camera, considering the big differents in price.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The cameras are very similar on paper, both with rich feature sets. The main difference is that the ZS100 has a larger sensor and a slightly larger wide-open aperture. Therefor the ZS100 will have better image quality and will hold up better in lower light conditions. On the other hand the ZS70 has a longer zoom, which could be an advantage depending on your needs. I just bought the ZS100 and I find the zoom is very usable at it's most extended setting in well lit conditions without needing to use a tripod. I am curious how the ZS70 performs at max zoom and it was very tempting to buy, for its long reach.
