A: Yup gotta use the right fasteners, such as anchors or drill bit screws or bolts.
A: You are going to want to put two bolts in the top and possibly 2 more in the bottom. An investment in a tv is too much to trust to one bolt. I didnt measure it but the distance is between 4 and 6"
