Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Director Gore Verbinski and the crew set sail once again for this, the third chapter in the swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is hopelessly trapped in Davy Jones' locker after a harrowing encounter with the dreaded Kracken, and now Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) must align themselves with the nefarious Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) if they hold out any hope of saving their old friend from a fate worse than death. The East India Trading Company and its fearsome leader, Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander), have taken control of the ghostly Flying Dutchman and its captain, Davy Jones (Bill Nighy), and now the baleful Admiral Norrington (Jack Davenport) has taken the helm in a relentless bid to destroy every pirate ship in his path and bring the Age of Piracy to a violent close. Meanwhile, Will, Elizabeth, and Captain Barbossa navigate treacherous waters and face bitter betrayal as they set sail to gather the only army that can stand up to Beckett -- The Nine Lords of the Brethren Court. But Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the lords, and as long as he's stuck in Davy Jones' locker, Beckett and his nefarious armada are sure to emerge victorious. There's still hope, however, if the heroic team that includes Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris), Pintel (Lee Arenberg), and Ragetti (Mackenzie Crook) can reach exotic Singapore and convince vulpine pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) to provide them with charts and a ship. But even the powerful Brethren Court may need a bit of help from volatile sea goddess Calypso in order to weather the coming storm. With the entire future of the pirate way at stake, everyone will be forced to choose sides while drifting precariously to the edge of the earth for one final, spectacular battle. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

at worlds end isnt the best of the trilogy but its definetly the best looking. the cinematography is well done with great lighting and some of the best best CG ive seen in a movie. im a pretty big fan of the trilogy so naturaly im gonna love this one. johnny depp is better than ever, bloom and knightly are repeating there roles but are still good. geffoery rush was great. davy jones is pretty much the same and theres a cool thing in there when you see what he looks like when hes not a fish. and of course the black pearl. the story is clearly much more comlpex this time round. you might find yourself saynig 'what' or 'im lost'. i understood it perfectly and sure i had to watch it twice to fully understand it but i still got. the final battle in the water funnel thing was great and jack sparrows dad plays a rolling stones song without screwing up the movie. kiera knightly has some surprises along the way while will turner has a twist of his own at the end. there was just two little things i didnt like about this installment: the floating bowl and the giant lady. its cool when she turns into little sea crabs though. and the best set of all the pirates movies of the trilogy comes a little past the middle of the this movie. the ship wreck place. it was amazing and it was made out of foam. the sequence with all the different jacks was pretty funny and all openning scene in that chinese looking place was gritty but fun. this is by far the most epic pirates of the three and you already know that just cuz it comes 15 minutes short of 3 hours. pirates 3 is absolutely 100% amazing in blu-ray. ive seen it in hd on a sony, insignia, sharp, westinghouse, and samsung. so when i bought pirates on blu-ray i got a 36 inch samsung that day. i liked it best on the samsung for some reason. i guess having a samsung phone and computer just makes me a sucker for samgung(and its the official nfl tv).anyway i love this movie either way. nothing will ever beat the first one but anything beats the second one.

For anyone new to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, here is a list of all the movies in order of release: 1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 4. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides 5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales I would say that the first installment is the best of the bunch, the others not nearly as much. I did enjoy the fifth installment when I saw it in the theaters, but that may be a matter of preference. So the first and the fifth were the strong points of the franchise for me, and that was enough to make me purchase the in-between films just to round out the collection and revisit the stories. Overall, the series isn't bad, but if it can be helped, wait for the 2nd-5th films to go on clearance before purchasing - which they are now, except for the 5th (which was just recently released). The first one is well worth even at full price. Best Buy is the best place to get these because they have all the films readily available.

Best final piece to a trilogy since LotR

This film was fantastic. It has to be the greatest finale to a trilogy since Return of the King. I think this film should have been up for more awards than it was nominated for. The plot line is solid and the movie drives at an even pace except for a few spots. The action is almost non-stop until you hit a few dips in the road where it goes from fast paced to a slow feel so that we can sort of catch our breath and put 1 and 3 together. This movie makes up completely for the second film, which I thought to be pretty poorly done. Every aspect of the series comes back into this movie. We see the crazy pirates from the Black Pearl in film 1, the weird fishy dudes from Davey Jones' ship in film 2, and bunch of new characters who make their debut. I just thought that the movie contained too much. It seemed short for all of the stuff it contained, leaving a few characters undeveloped and left meaningless. Overall, a fine film, but a little lacking in the character details that would tie everything together in a double knot instead of velcro straps.

This review is from the DVD of the film so my review below is not only on the film but the 2 disc "special edition" DVD package The last film of the series (maybe) is my least favorite. Not as fun as the first two films. How many spoilers does 1 want here? Killing off multiple characters (will not say which here not to spoil the surprise to someone who has not watched the film yet) except to say 1 character brought into this film alone & with the notable actor playing the part gets killed off what half way through the film. Badly done Disney. WAY too many characters to keep track of. I did enjoy, like in the 1st film, the lines taken from the Disneyland attraction. Ok, the problems with the DVD package:1. Those HORRIBLE, little flip open plastic cases I hate these things!!! 2. Disney giving away spoilers INSIDE THE DVD PACKAGE!! I did not get to see the film in the theater, so when I bought the DVD & saw the packaging/inserts inside 1 of them gave away plot points. Disney, you should know better than that. 3. Limited edition? Ha ha, available until 9-30-08

An Epic Movie with Great Laughs!

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End was a great ending to a great trilogy of movies. The battle for control of the seas reaches its climax as Jack Sparrow is ultimately rescued from his fate in Davy Jones' locker. The pirate lords from across the world unite to take down the forecs of the East India Trading Company, and what a battle it is! The scenery was phenomenal, so realistic! The effects were top notch...everything from exploding cannons to high-stakes swordplay. And of course, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow was simply a riot! The only problem I had with the movie was the way it ended. Without spoiling it, all I will say is that it leaves you hanging a bit... you're definitely left wanting more, which is a good or bad thing depending on how you choose to view it. Still, I really enjoyed this movie, and I watch it quite a bit.

Okay compared to original, not great.

Im a HUGE Disney fan in every way. I'm A HUGE POTC fan in every way as well. I will never say that this movie is bad because I am so biased. However, in comparison to the best movie in the series so far (the original/first movie) this one is just "out there". I think they are starting to rely too heavily on computer animation instead of solid acting as they did in the first movie. This movie is also VERY complicated to follow. I would say this............If you haven't seen BOTH of the first two movies, dont waste your time with this one. Watch the others first. If you HAVE watched the others, you may have to watch this one several times before you finally "get it". Hopefully with the next movie, they will get back to the basics as they did in the first movie and rely on a great story with great acting and less reliance on computers.

      Best Purchase Ever

Many character's from the other two pirates of the Caribbean such as: Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), (Johnny Depp), Captain Jack Sparrow (Keira Knightley), Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), and many others. This movie is one of the most top rated movie. This is the story. Captain Barbossa and his fellow crew mates have set sail to find jack sparrow that have figured he is in Davy Jones locker. They fight him and go to Brethren Court to set allies with all pirates in thw world to make the last stand of their lives. With the enourmouse fleet, the pirates think they have a trick up their sleeves. They will set the volatile sea goddess Calyps to set a storm. You'll have to watch the movie to discover what happens to Will Turner, Captain Jack Sparrow, Captain Jack Sparrow , Captain Barbossa. The HDMI makes the movie really a 6 star.

pirates of the caribbean at world's end trilogy

Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End is deffinatly the best movie ever made!!!, and the reason I am saying that is not only because of the storyline of the movie or because the actors and actresses or but, the reason I'm saying this is the best movie yet is the potc trilogy is because of the fact that jack sparrow servives through all the things he goes through in this movie and of course also because the special effects in the movie and fact that there is gonna be a pirates of the caribbean 4: the fountain of youth that comes out to theaters in the summer of 2009 or 2010 !!!. I'll bet all of you who read this review from me didn't even know that theres gonna be a fouth movie in the trilogy!, didn't you?. Wel thanks to me now you know!!! =).
