Works as intended
||Posted .Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This lens filter is vital for my job, as I use it in dusty and dirty environment. The primary use of this is to try to keep dirt and debris away from the lens itself, and to allow some protection in case of a minor rock or equivalent coming towards it. Filters like these has likely saved many of my lenses so far, so here is to hoping in case of something, that it will do the same.

A lot thinner than my other filters but good glass
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Didn't get any background history on platinum before I went and got it last second at a local best buy. But after buying it and throwing it onto my 85mm (apparently the 58mm thread is a pretty common one for a good amount of my canon lenses ) I'd say it feels and looks a lot better and sturdier than the tiffen ones I typically buy (cuz they're usually cheaper). The glass looks like it is made very nicely The case may take some time to get open, but since I noticed that the case is made perfectly and very little to no dust from factory, i'd say this is a much better company to buy filters from in the future than the tiffen ones (always hella dusty, and attracts these micro particles as soon as I take them out of the case) I mainly buy UV lens to just protect my expensive camera lens glass, otherwise, i'd say invest in this rather than the tiffen lens.

Definitely needed in photography!!
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I really love this filter. It’s perfect in protecting my lens… I accidentally scratched it and had to pay a lot of money to get it off the lens. This will prevent it next time!! I appreciate this lens - it’s really a game charger in photography!

High Quality Filter
||Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.Purchased this filter mostly to protect the front element of my telephoto lens, and I suppose it does help with UV light distraction. It fit smoothy, I can detect no effect on photo quality, and it's doin' its job!

It fits the lens and is good quality b
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This was a good quality UV filter for a zoom lens that I had failed to get a filter for. Best Buy came through on vacation and had the size I needed. It fits and does it job. That would be a good recommendation.

UV filter
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. It is always a smart idea to keep a filter on your lens. I would much rather pay $25.00 for a filter than $1,000.00 for a lens replacement due to a scratch!

Cheap item for protecting expensive lenses
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Bought this filter as a lens protector. I rather replace a damaged filter than replacing a damaged expensive lens. Helps in protecting lens from being scratched.

Q: Questionwill it work for Nikon D3400 camera with 18 - 55 mm lens and 70 to 300 MM lens, if not what would I be looking for ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer We are actually talking apples and oranges here. What you need to determine is the diameter or filter size of the lens. The 18-55 & the 70-300 mm refer to the focal length of these zoom lens, or how far in or out the lens can capture an image in focus. The filter size refers to the circumference of the barrel of the lens . The way to determine this is to look into the lens ( as if taking a selfie if it were on the camera ), there should be a number in mm engraved and/or painted telling you the filter size it takes . For example most of my lenses for my Nikon D3300 have filter sizes of 52mm , but for my Nikkor 50 mm f1.8G Standard lens which is shorter but wider, I needed a 58mm filter. Hope that helps!

Q: QuestionIs this lens suitable for photographing the sun during a solar eclipse?
Asked by Neil.
- A:Answer No, definitely not! Don't ever use a UV filter to view a solar eclipse. You will go blind. Your camera will be destroyed. You must use a solar filter made of either aluminized mylar or glass coated with stainless steel. The reflection must be 99%. Go to an astronomy website such as www.telescope.com and select a solar filter of the correct diameter for your device.
