I had put the first disk on my NetFlix a while ago, and forgot about it. When I received it and popped it in the DVD player, I was immediately struck by the bright colors used to enhance the story.
It's part mystery, part comedy, part drama, part romance. The cast is phenomenal; they work so well together, and their timing is impeccable. The sets, costumes, and make-up are not overdone, and greatly enhance the fairy tale-like reality.
With so many shows on the air that are boring, redundant, and excessive, this show is interesting, new, refreshing, and suprisingly tame. There is some inuendos (not enough to catch unless you're looking for it), the language is very tame (a b-word every now and then), and some violence (think Disney violence, like people getting hit in the head and falling down funny). I'm so disappointed that we won't be able to see any more of this show, but I've heard talks of a comic book and a full length movie.
I would definitely recommend this show to anyone, anywhere, looking for a new spin instead of the same old shows.
