    Synopsis

    Quarantine
Jay Hernandez, Jennifer Carpenter, and Johnathon Schaech star in this remake of Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza's successful, Spanish-language horror film [REC], which follows a television reporter and her cameraman as they fall under a mysterious quarantine issued on an inner-city apartment building. Television reporter Angela Vidal (Carpenter) and her trusty cameraman (Steve Harris) were documenting a night in the life of a Los Angeles fire station crew when the firefighters were summoned to a nearby apartment building to answer a routine 911 call. Upon arriving at the scene, Angela and company discover that police have already arrived to investigate the blood-curdling screams ringing out from one of the apartments. One of the women living in the building has been infected with something terrible, but what? When a few of the other residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape and discover that the CDC has quarantined the building. The officials in charge won't relay any information to those trapped inside the building, and it's impossible to seek information from the outside since telephone, Internet, television, and cell-phone access have all been cut off. By the time the quarantine is lifted, the intrepid cameraman's chilling footage provides the only evidence of the horrors that unfolded on that terrible night. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

      A shocking surprise

I slept on this movie for a while thinking it wasn't going to be worth watching, but I kept hearing that it was a pretty good movie so I finally broke down and picked it up and was pleasantly surprised. This really did turn out to be a good movie....definitely one of the better "scary" movies I've seen in a while because it puts you right in the mix of things. Because it's filmed like a documentary from one camera the entire time you don't get the standard girl falls down and can't seem to get up to run anymore or the predictable walking quietly in the dark and suddenly snatched up from an alternate angle. This was actually a well put together movie that draws you in and will make even the seasoned scary movie watcher jump several times. The acting is decent, the zombie thing isn't overdone, and the invention of fear is ill in this one. Would definitely recommend for the scary movie watcher!

I highly recommend this movie to any one who loves horror movies. I saw this in the theater and it had everyone on the edge of thier seats saying,"WOW!" when it was all over. My wife and I are huge movie buffs, especially in the horror genre. First person point-of-view movies are hard to pull off. Unlike Blair Witch Project, which was so jerky you couldn't tell what was going on and it made you sick, this movie is much more controled. You really feel like you're in there with them, and the nightvision makes it that much more intense. My wife and I saw it with some friends and we all loved it. The only negative comments I've heard, came from people who don't like first person point-of-view movies. If you liked movies like, 28 Days Later or Cloverfield, then you'll love this movie. I definitely recommend it!

Well, I actually liked this movie a lot. Yeah, its another typical 'infection' movie. Where the people, get infected, become zombies (kinda), try to attack non-zombies, and the non-zombies have to fight off the infected individuals. But hey, if you dig apocalypse type movies, like I do, then I highly recommend this movie. As for the movie itself, I thought the acting was well done without being too over-dramatic. The plot was thorough, and all the parts of the movie flowed together well. My only possible downside to this movie is the camera work. I thought the idea of the camera looking like it was done by a handheld and being actual live footage added a nice touch to the story. However, if you easily get motion-sickness, you may want to stray from this movie.

If you are looking for a movie that will deliver edge-of-your-seat experience with shreaks of terror and unexpectancy, this movie is for you! I was very skeptical when i went to theaters to see this movie. I had the feeling it was going to be the same ol' same ol'. You know...People in a dark place...they see a dark room...and actually walk in it just to say Hello..knowing something is going to happen! Well i have to say this movie is dark...they do enter dark rooms...but what lies in these places will blow and scare your mind. I think i honestly have reflex problems i jerked so much during this film. Honestly a great horror piece needed to be added in everyones DVD collection!

This movie is scary because this can happen in your own city or maybe even town.I dont want to spoil the plot but I can say the threat is no indestructable Jason type,no ghosts or zombies that have some unbelieveable creation process(chemicals or gases).Jennifer Carpenter from Shotimes' Dexter series shines along with a likeable cast you come to care about. If you tired of nonsensical slasher films or like situations that can really happen like "the Strangers" or other films based on true stories check this out.The picture and sound are also awsome and help you feel like youre there.

A television reporter and cameraman are called in to investigate a building, while interviewing some firemen. They end up trapped inside the building when it is quarantined by the CDC, while a viral outbreak turns its occupants into bloodthirsty killers. It is a great atmospheric horror that doesn't slow down, rather picks up pace after the horror takes off. Unfortunately, I would pick the original over the remake any day. Not to say this movie is bad, but the foreign version, .REC, is far more superior.

This movie I knew from the beginning was goin to be stupid...the only reason why i went was because some of my friends and family wanted to go view it.....AND WALA!! the movie turned out to be dumb...i wasn't the only one with this opinion because most of the theater walked out with me at the ending saying how this was a waste of money..I would say get it if your just gulable to scary movies but other then that I would leave this as a blockbuster night where your bored as and there's nothing else out to rent
