Honestly, The best way for me to see if it is a wall outlet that has failed or if it is the unit outlet. is to plug it into a known functioning outlet. So if everything in the power strip fails, take a lamp for example and take it to an outlet in your house that you know works. If you plug in the strip and the lamp works, then just one by one go down the plug till the lamp doesn't light up. If the lamp lights up on every strip outlet, then it is most likely the wall outlet, if it fails on on of the strip outlets when testing you know it is the strip.

No electronic device lasts forever, though a surge suppressor should last for several years under normal circumstances. I have seen them blown by lighting strikes or unusually high power spikes due to major electrical work in your area.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Best way to do this is to use a device called a Killawatt. Plug it into any outlet and plugin a lamp or something you know should work and it'll tell you if the outlet is drawing power.
