I am sorry to hear that you have trouble seeing a "light" after powering on this laptop; however, based on "my" experiences, I want you to know that you are not alone! There is, in fact, a "lighted" power button--if the laptop's A/C power cord is plugged into the laptop! You can see that light when the laptop is powered on and the A/C power cord is plugged in and it is located just in front of where you plug in this laptop's A/C power cord. When the laptop is not "fully" charged that light will be "orange" in color; however, when the laptop's battery is "fully" charged the light will be a bright white light. I am sorry that a previous answer given was incorrect. This happens to be probably the only criticism I have of this laptop and other HP laptops that I've owned--the "power on" light is not positioned on top of the base of this laptop's chassis, but it may "also" be a good thing as the light is less likely to serve as a visual distraction while one is engaging in computer related activity with this laptop or some other HP laptops.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It appears to be a very small heat embossed symbol that indicates "power" (A circle with a single vertical line from the center upward within it. Looks like a clock at 12:00) It does not illuminate. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.look closer.. its not a light its a power symbol and no it does not light up lol...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope but there is a light by the power port on the side. This unit goes to sleep to save power when not used.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
