Q: QuestionI own GE microwave model PEM31SF3SS, from 2018. I need replacement trim kit. The trim bought originally is JX827SF1SS, but do not see this model number trim available anymore. I only see JX827SFSS. It appears to be the same, but not sure. Will it work?

• A:Answer Hi RON, thanks for reaching out! The 24" model that you purchased is only able to be installed via a countertop. We would not recommend attempting to build this unit into surrounding cabinetry do to the fact that this unit has not been tested or approved for that style of installation. The PEB7227ANDD model is a built in model that has the same cutout space needed as your older PEB7226SFSS model. The new unit, while the body is not stainless steel, does have stainless steel trim kits available to it to help it blend with the rest of your kitchen. The model PEB7227ANDD requires the same cabinetry cutout as your current microwave. However, due to airflow and heat requirements, as well as the continuing development of the appearance of our microwaves, new microwaves will not retrofit previously used trim kits.
