No. It heats in cycles & the skillet and pot often burn what you are cooking if you are not on top of it. What comes with it is too thin. Good for boiling without heating up the house.

They may remain hot after being turned off but only from the heat from the pan. The controls set how hot the food gets inside the pan. These are wonderful new technology. Hope this helps.
