A:AnswerI wondered that myself. I can say that has been our experience with the system. We connect our TV via Bluetooth currently and only get sound from the front. We have a digital audio cable but can't seem to get it to work between the receiver and tv.
A:AnswerYes, the system will work with cable TV (depending on your cable box). It does not have a coaxial cable input, but many cable boxes have several other output options. I don't believe most cable TV channels broadcast with a surround sound signal. So you probably won't get the surround effect. You may be able to get all of the speakers to make sound, but not the same as if you were watching a DVD or Blue-Ray that has surround sound.
With Chromcast, Firestick, PS4, etc. once again surround sound is in the media you are watch and less the device its coming from. However, I don't believe any streaming service utilizes surround sound (I may be wrong about streaming services, but I'm pretty sure it would be a premium service if they do stream surround).
Some PS3 & 4 games are surround sound compatible, but not all of them. It should say on the game case.
A:AnswerThere's only one hdmi port forro this so if your running one thing and wanna add something g else you'll have e to continually change the cord. Not enough hdmi hook ups if you ask me. I returned mi e
A:AnswerCheck the manual for your TV. If it supports RAC (Reverse Audio Channel) then you don't need the optical cable. RAC routes the TV's audio to the home theater over the same HDMI cable which routes video from the home theater to the TV. All HDMI cables are legally required to support RAC per the licensing agreement.
A:AnswerThe only reason you would need an internet connection is to stream content from the internet. If your TV does this then you don't need it. With that said, You may not be able to utilize the speakers that come with this system when streaming from the TV.
A:AnswerThis was one of my initial questions prior to buying this unit,
There's a slot in the front of the unit where you can plug in usb devices to play Music, Photo, or Videos.
A:AnswerYes, you can use speaker wire to extend the location of your speakers. I bought extra cable at Frys Electronics, but you can buy at Best Buy or Home Depot as well.
