If you are connected via hdmi cable, it should detect and set accordingly. You can change setting in the settings menu under video. However, it may be the "box" the TV is connected to needs to have it's video output setting changed.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just bought this set as well and use Verizon Fios. Make sure to go into your cable box video settings to ensure the box is delivering 1080p 16:9. You'll have many issues with picture, zoom etc. unless you change to 1080p 16:9
