• Yes I think it has to do with the weight of the baby although I’ve read nothing with specifics on weight

• Yes it can also happen if the child weight shifts which can happen more when it is on a higher setting

• Yes. I have also noticed that the swing has began to jerk when the speed is changed. Depending on the motion, the swing makes a strange noise as if it's cracking. Originally, out of the box it was great. Now I'm not so sure. We continue to use it be very cautiously..
