“Does the "random" feature work when playing music from a USB memory stick via the USB port?”

• No, random only works with standard CDs. It does not work with USB drives or .MP3 CDs. Major flaw in my opinion.

• The random function only works with normal CD's.

• The manual is vague about the random play with a USB-connected source. It does mention in the CD section: "Random play is only available on standard music CDs, not MP3 or WMA CDs." It doesn't mention USB mp3 files.
