If your Ipod has Blue Tooth Capability it will play on this system or if you have a USB port on your Ipod it will also play on this system. As for using your Bose speakers I would say that it will play them as long as the impedance of the speakers matches the output of the Mini Shelf's output specifications. Naturally you would have to unhook the speakers that came with this Mini Shelf Stereo and hook your Bose speakers in where you unhooked the Mini Shelf's speakers.
