Can I connect a cassette player? null

This shelf stereo system does have the option of connecting an external device using the red/white RCA type connections. If your cassette player uses these connection types, or can be adapter to this, then you would be able to connect them.

I would suppose you could if it connects with a 3.5 jack into the aux outlet. I connected my MP3 player to the aux and it plays just fine.

It depends on what you are connecting the cassette player to? If you are talking about Wired Connection to a Bluetooth A/V receiver or a Bluetooth speaker? I would recommend the user manual for either and the cassette player probably does not contain Bluetooth capabilities on it's own.
