You would not be able to upgrade the TV itself. You could however buy a gaming system such as the ps4 or xbox one which would provide more than enough options. Certain Blu-ray players can achieve the same results as a standard smart tv. And products such as the roku do the same and more.

Not that I'm aware of. But you can connect your laptop to it to stream movies by accessing Netflix or with Apple TV or any other plug in devices. Whatever apps you have on your Blueray player will be available too. With this being said, since I'm not even being close to an expect you can always call the company's customer service. Good luck. For the $ it's a good tv.
