• The electric fireplace is just for looks, its is not a functioning heater.

• It DOES HEAT it is very warm if heating small area!

• Hello, The fireplace does heat the room! It can heat up to 400 sq. feet. Flames and heat can also be controlled separately, so you can turn on the flames for ambiance without the heat if you'd like. We hope that helps!
