- Answer The best way to create/edit/store Microsoft-Office files like Word, PPT, etc is to use Google docs (which does not require any additional software installation). This is the default in chromebooks. If the use wants to create/edit/store the Word docs on the chromebook (not on google drive), free Word app can be downloaded from Playstore. But, that will have limited capability to edit. In conclusion -- yes, your teenager can use this chromebook to create, edit Word docs without any additional software.

- Answer That depends on what you need to use it for. Chromebooks are different from Windows laptop products in that they are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud. Because of this they don’t have much for on board storage but they also are not expensive either. Chromebooks run off apps like an Android phone or tablet so you cannot download and install applications or .exe files. If you need to use third party software applications that must be installed on the computer, a Chromebook is likely not for you, where a Windows laptop would suit you better.

- Answer Fortnite is not compatible with Chromebooks and requires more robust system specifications than a Chromebook offers. A Windows laptop that meets or exceeds the system requirements of Fortnite would be your best choice.
