The same thing happened to me, but when I received my G257HU the bottom bezel was silver or consistent with the alternate pictures. Nevertheless, I bought the monitor based on the specifications, so, if it was all black I would still use it. But, I am exchanging mine, because I am receiving back light bleed; and, Acer customer service stated it is a legitimate defect.
