The tablet has nothing to do with Direct TV or AT & T. It is only Wifi capable and it's not locked to any cell phone or cable company. You can watch Direct TV with their app on any tablet or laptop as long you're their subscriber.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the iPad Pro 9.7 that is wifi only, so I didn't need a contract at all! Works well with an internet connection at home or out and about. I run my DirecTV apps off of the iPad with no problem! If you get the one that can use cellular data, then it'll most likely need a data plan to go along with it.
