• Yes it is....I upgraded my son's from 8 gig to 16 gig with no problems. I bought the laptop ram from New egg and it works just great and has better speed on the ram ! Hope this helps !

• Yes I took the 8GB stick out and put in 2x16GB kit for a total of 32GB.
