Came with 2 slots, in which one was used and the second empty. Both are removable. I used the following for the second slot and it worked just fine: CT8G4SFS832A (Google the product).

Don't buy the crucial Ballistix 3200MHz it will only run at 2666MHz because it needs to have the XMP Profile turned on. The Nitro 5 lower end models don't have the XMP profile in the BIOS. The Hyper X ram runs 3200MHz out the box.

I added another 8 GB stick that I purchased from Best Buy and the computer recognized it. Acording to the literature, both sticks can be removed and a total RAM of 32GB can be utilized.
