  • QuestionI see that you cannot remove the battery because it was inside unlike any other laptops. My concern is, if I carry this laptop in the plane, will the TSA let me?

    • Answer Yes TSA will let you take the laptop into the plane. However, you will have to let it go through a basket while going through the security checkpoint as you would with any laptop I believe. You'll also need to keep the laptop turned off until they tell you you can use electronics.

    • Answer It will not be on display at Milpitas, CA location but it says its on display at Marina, CA but its more or less the same body as the 519 USD model which is most likely on display at both locations. The laptop is also available again to order online if you weren't able to purchase it in store. I saw it went out of stock last night but this morning it restocked. Overall the parts in this are 150-300 USD reduced price vs other laptops with the same teck specs for black Friday.

    • Answer Its got a standard size combo jack for audio mic/sound. I'd honestly pick up something like the Astro A40 TR its on sale for 187 from 250 USD.   • QuestionWhich type of Ram should I buy if I want to expand the System Memory RAM to 32 GB?

    • Answer Its gonna run you about 200 USD to move this computers DDR4 # to 32 GB just to tell you. Heres a link to the cheapest RAM 32 GB kit I could find for this particular laptop. Its obviously not on sale. This said if the 32 GB of ram kit really matters to you you may want to just go with a different machine as the 1050ti vs the 1060 graphics card is a 71% improvement in GPU performance for an additional 200 USD your budget laptop goes from 600 USD to 800 USD there are a few 1060 laptops for around 800 USD on the market. The ram kit will still be lower but ram is always a after market improvement you can make while the 200 USD for upgrade it into the 1050ti you will really not be able to get any functional upgrade in this PC for general purpose use over 16 GB DDR4 as you'll be bottle necking the laptops functionality beyond that.     • Answer The refresh rate is 60hz. You can hook up a faster monitor, but I see no need. It doesn’t seem to bottleneck while gaming, and the response is acceptable.

    • Answer You can run all of those titles. You’ll have to turn the settings down slightly on PUBG because the game is poorly optimized. The laptop also does fairly well streaming most games through OBS on to twitch.

    • Answer You can expand both the memory and the storage. There are two easy access bays on the bottom. One leads to the 2 RAM slots (one slot is empty) and the other is an empty bay for a second SSD/HDD.

  • QuestionWill this laptop run from the intel igpu during light loads, like video watching or web surfung? Also, is this Nvidia gpu the same as the desktop version?

    • Answer The 1050ti is the desktop version, but it’s not tied to a card. So you can’t upgrade it. But yes, the chipset is the desktop chip. During light loads, the machine will default to the Intel UHD 630. During gaming it will use the Nvidia 1050ti. On rare occasions it will need to be set to use the 1050ti on some games. This is simple enough to do with the included software.

    • Answer Im just learning! but my great grandson plays it once in a while. his uses his xbox mostly. he hasn't complained about anything with the laptop. so i guess it works fine. The color is great, and so is the picture. love the lightup keyboard. no lagging while playing.

    • Answer Acer has not tested the Samsung drive you mention but this system will support up to a 512GB SSD if you want to change it out to a larger SSD. If you ever need to reinstall the Acer OEM operating system you will need to create a USB back up from the Acer utility that is included with the laptop.
