I have never played minecraft on this laptop but I can assume that it will definitely be able to. I play Apex and Call of Duty Warzone with no problems and they play at 1080p at the highest video settings. I get no lag but you are limited to a max of about 65 FPS and an average of about 55 fps. I easily upgraded the RAM from its stock 8 to 16gb. It has two SODIMM slots. As far as other mods go you may be limited to what you can do because it's a laptop. When I had this thing open to install my RAM cards everything is else is pretty tight and hidden it would be a pain to access anything.
