Auto: in this mode, both GPU (integrated and dedicated) are available for windows to select from for programs, device is selected according to individual program requirement. Optimus: its a e-switch (physical electronic switch) that's provided in the Nvidia app / bios setting to force dedicate mode or dual gpu mode.
