Basically a computer is the lynchpin of your setup. If you want to use a monitor with a console gaming system, however, it is not designed for that. You can, however, use a keyboard/mouse hooked up to a console gaming system and a tv. It's useful for some multiplayer game communications (like Final Fantasy 14).
