At least 2 - one to put the Ethernet into coax, one to get Ethernet out of coax
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some of the Verizon routers have MoCa built in, but in general you need two of these. One to out the signal on the coax, and one to take it off the coax and back to the Cat 5/6 at the receiving end. These are just media bridges so they just change the media the Ethernet signal is on. There are other things like TiVo that have MoCA built in, but I have found it easy to get two of the same kind and just plug and play. The good news is I am getting almost gigabit speeds with two of these.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You’ll need at least two - one at your router plugged into an available port, and one at your game console with a cable connected to the console. The upside is that once you have one plugged into your router, you only need add one more in each location that you need a wired connection. Be aware that if you have DirecTV, U-verse, or Verizon FIOS, you cannot use these adapters - look into HPNA instead.

So you'd set up the one with your router, in that room, and it would act as the bridge. From there, your gaming one would connect to that bridge. But it goes through Coax cable, so if you're not hooking it up through Coax, then this is not the system you're looking for. I don't know enough about gaming to know how you hook things up, so not sure if that is how you hook up or not. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For the setup that you want, you would need two of them. One in the living room and one in your room. The one in the living room connects to any of the router's Ethernet output and then connects to the coaxial cable sending the signal. The one on your room connects to the cable drop (coaxial) to receive the signal then to your gaming device using an Ethernet cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you need two.
