• my S8 came with smart view and connects right away, unless your phone doesn't have a mirroring app then yes.

• You can use this on your Note 8. If you pull down the screen to show the quick action functions, then swipe it right, another set will come up. You will see Smart View, hit that and it will connect to the device. Make sure the beam is plugged in and it should pop up on your phone. It will then mirror anything you do on your phone, it will not fill whole screen but well enough to see.
