The ScreenBeam Mini2 operates using a dedicated (Wi-Fi Direct) connection between your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone), and the ScreenBeam. You do NOT need any Internet or network connectivity to use wireless display, in fact that's the beauty of it, you don't have any of the latency or lag associated with 'streaming' across a network. No, u dont need Internet i literally just duplicates what is on the item u are showing 
I use netfliz off my phone because i have unlimited internet and watch it on my tv
