“What is the range? How far away can the transmitter safely be from the receiver? Does it have to be direct line of sight? Will speakers, furniture or people standing/sitting in front of it cause any interferance? Thanks!”

I have mine connected in the basement of my house and I use my MacBook Air in the patio outside the house or in front many feet away with no problems. I have a friend who lives in a building and he can use his laptop in his parking lot/ park 5 floors down with no problems. I've had from Motorolla to Links and they're no the same as Apple. I hope this helps you decide.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mine at 8 feet from my desk and 8 feet from the ground. I have it as direct line of site, but it says that it doesn't need it. However i think it transmit at a certain ghz so more electronics like cordless phones and other devices that transmit at 2.4GHz to 5 GHz can cause interference. People standing in front, and speakers in front shouldnt cause any problems.
