Headphones do announce call, and able to click over to call. Can pause, play, skip songs. Mute the mic, reject call, redial last number. Voice activated commands available. Many, many other perks with these headphones, too many to mention. Google item for details.

It can answer calls yes, whether or not it can read the text message is up to your specific phone.

The Open Run Pro only gives a single beep for incoming calls from iPhone. You can have it read your text if you enable the side button on your iPhone. Hold side button ask “Siri read my last text message”

Whatever sounds your phone speaker would produce are also produced by headset.
