- Answer It does need a softer seat for lighter people. You can use 2" memory foam same cut as seat.I guess all seats must start out firm in commercial sold Chairs.

- Answer Hi Masum. That would be 16.75". However, you may want to take into account the seat too, which is another 4.25".
