The silver is reflective material as the band is dual purpose for activities like jogging and as a sleep band. Would not recommend wearing in the shower.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The metal is stainless steel. It can get pretty scratched up after awhile but it will not fade. I don't think that daily shower will affect the band, but I wouldn't recommend wearing the Fitbit tracker in the shower.

I wouldn't advise it for use in water though - doesn't say it waterproof and you might risk damaging the inner workings.
