Pretty sure it does NOT work with sync 2. My 2016 needed a new usb a panel for car play to work (has a circuit card or something??) Also it needs the bigger screen of sync 3.

If they are not there (when no phone is connected via USB) then chances are this may not work. Give it a try and test it quickly so you can return if the unit does not work.
