You press down the bottom of one of them until you hear them both beep. Easy to do. Well designed and well made.

They pair individually. The only problem is that they have the same name and if you only use one at a time, you might make the wrong choice about which one you're trying to connect to... Not a big deal but a little inconvenient. Maybe there's a way to rename them but I couldn't easily find a way to do that on my devices (Samsung phone and Chromebook).

Once you pair one speaker both are ready to use but you have to turn both on then press once on the one you paired first then both will turn on.

Power them both up simultaneously holding the grey power buttons for around three seconds, and pair with the one that comes up in bluetooth options. Hope this helps, God bless:-)

The speakers pair with each other when you first turn both on. 
Then you pair with your device. You can use one or both speakers.
