“Does my phone have to be connected to the device in order to work?”

• No connection to a phone is required. As long as you have wifi and it can connect to it, you are all set. Mine wasn't able to maintian a reliable connection to my wifi, unlike the grace digital Mondo I had for years before this one...

• No...I just plugged my Aluratek Internet Radio into an outlet...it is using my WiFi in my apartment. I am able to choose what station I want to listen to....there are other options as well, but this is all I use.
