QuestionDoes this model vent to outside? And do you need 'make up' air? Meaning if you pull more than 400 CFM from your home, some inspections make you replace the 'extra' vented air. Specs state 506 cfm...will someone confirm? Thank you.

- Answer It can be vented out the front, or outside through an overhead soffit. The fan is 300 cfm.

QuestionI've seen reviews of this product elsewhere, saying there is a common issue with a false "door open" warning, possibly due to a bad door-position sensor. Has anyone experienced this?

- Answer I haven't had any issues with mine. My guess is that it is in the sensor or wiring plugging into the main circuit board controller.

QuestionHow difficult was it to install? Been looking at youtube videos on how to mount a new microwave with all the templates and mounting screws, finding studs etc. Also does it come with the screws that go into the wall and open up?

- Answer No, but videos online make it appear it is easy. We had a friend install. The back plate and screw holes on top matched exactly from our previous microwave of a different brand that we had for about 10 years. Seems that most of these items have been standardized.

- Answer That is weird. You will need to ask the manufacturer if still under the warranty. I looked at the documentation with the oven and I don't see how you could have turned it off.

- Answer Suzy, the fans in the unit run when the unit is heated, and will run until it is cooled. It is normal for this to happen.

QuestionOur venting goes into the ceiling, then horizontally thru the house wall, where there's a damper. Amana has a damper at the microwave. (1) Will the two dampers in series make the airflow ineffective? (2) Can we remove Amana’s damper if need be?

- Answer Hi Walt, the wall cap has a backdraft damper. This information can be found in the Venting Design Specifications in the installation guide.
