“I have the Alexa app downloaded on my iPad already. If I Purchase Alexa show as a gift do I need to purchase another one for myself or can I see the person through my ipad”

You do not have to purchase a second Amazon Show. You will be able to call , leave message and drop in on the Amazon Show from your IPad via Amazon Alexa app. However, I do not think you can drop in from the Amazon Show to the iPad. Messaging and voice call will work from the Amazon Show to the IPad. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Two Echo Shows can video chat with each other. However, Alexa (Echo, Dot, Show) can also make calls to phones. If I’m not mistaken, the Show can call an iPhone for example and you should be able to use FaceTime to video chat with the person using the Show. You wouldn’t need the Alexa app to do this. The app is mostly used to setup the device, preferences, etc.
