• The Show is just another model in the line of Echo devices that include the original Echo, the Tap, the Dot and the Look. They all have similar functionality but are for fitting different use cases and price ranges. I have not heard anything about the Show replacing any of the other devices in the line.

• Its a new product to the Echo line -up it DOES NOT need another Echo device to work. Its stand alone

• Echo Show is instead of, or if you prefer, add this to a different room as Echo. They are stand alone devices. Both are unique, excellent devices. One has a screen, which opens up so many new possibilities...
