Use the alexa app on your phone for using the camera for security. You set up pictures and wifi, printer's lamps ect.

Hello ChrystalS, I hope you've had a great December. Heres a few steps to follow to help set up a photo frame on the Echo Show 5. 
1. Say, "Alexa, Go to settings," or swipe down from the top of screen and select Settings.
2. Select Photo Frame.
3. Select your source of pictures from the available supported photo services.
4. To finish, select Start Photo Display.

In regards to the trouble you may be having with uploading photos to Amazon Photos, try following these steps. Upload from the photos original location on the device. If attempting to upload from another cloud service it may run into problems.

Uploading to Share Folder on Amazon Photos:
1. Select the Sharing icon in the top-right of your screen.
2. Select Create Group or choose the shared group to add photos to.
3. Select Add photos.
4. Select Upload from device or Add from Amazon Photos.
5. Choose photos to add.
6. Select Add photos.
7. Enter an optional comment.
8. Select Share.
