• I don't know if it's the same problem, but I just received my Fire HD 8 7th Gen today and charging is abysmally slow. I had to turn it off completely to see any real progress being made.

• I had same problem, bought a new charger. Charges fine now. I have noticed that the cheaper ones don't last as long as the one's that cost just a little more. Hope this helps.
