When I set mine up, I had the option to use my current settings and have everything transfer to the new device or start over. For me, this was helpful for 2 of the 3 devices I set up since we have 5 different user accounts and I didn't have to configure them all again. The apps for each user automatically transferred to the new device. The 3rd device I chose to start over since we didn't want the same apps installed. It was pretty easy setup for all three devices.
