Q: Questiondo you have to have merge tv from a cable company for the firestick to work
Asked by bchmom.
- A:Answer Hello, The Firestick is its own platform, that has no correlation to the cable companies. The Firestick requires Wifi, and then you can pick and choose the apps you want to use and pay for. It operates independently, so if you want apps like Netflix and Hulu, you would choose them and pay for them, versus paying the cable company. Or you can use both. Up to the user.

Q: QuestionMy tv is older and doesn’t have wi-fi built into it. Will a Amazon fire stick still work with tv? Thank you
Asked by Jayman.
- A:Answer Yes. This has built in Wifi which connects to your home wifi so you can access Netflix.etc on your TV! You do not need your TV to have it's own wifi in other words.

Q: QuestionOnce you connect Fire Stick to your TV’s HDMI port and turn the TV on, what’s next? Is there a certain channel you have to be on to watch things through Fire Stick? Does Fire Stick always stay plugged in even if you’re not watching any programs with it?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Hi mike, This isn't like the days where you needed to turn to channel 3 in order to use a device! However, you will likely need to change your TV's input to the same HDMI as the port you plugged it into. If you look at the back of your TV you should see what number HDMI you plugged it into. Use your TV remote and find the Source button on it. Click through that and change the source to the appropriate HDMI number. Yes, the fire stick could always stay plugged in even if you aren't using it. Seems like personal choice if you would want to unplug it! It would just need to reconnect to wifi when you plug it back in.
